We will be open from Saturday, 4 July to welcome our guests back to St Ives!
The safety and wellbeing of our staff and guests is paramount and we always pride ourselves on providing a very high standard of housekeeping and customer service. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have now taken even more steps to ensure your safety; new guidelines, procedures and training have been put into place to make sure your holiday is safe, relaxing and enjoyable.
Below, you can find information on the extra precautions that are taking place at the holiday homes managed by Escape to St Ives.
Staff Safety and Training
New guidelines and procedures have been written in conjunction with the recommended Government advice and training has been provided to all staff members to ensure they are aware of how to thoroughly clean and sanitise every room.
All staff are being provided with appropriate protective equipment which will be worn when cleaning and they have been trained on how to properly dispose of PPE.
Arrival and Departure
We have amended our check-in and check-out times from Saturday, 4 July to allow our Housekeepers to carry out their extra cleaning measures – allowing your holiday home to be aired and ensuring it is cleaned to the highest possible standard.
You can check-in from 5.00pm and we ask that you vacate the property no later than 9.00am on your day of departure to give us plenty of time to get it ready for the next arrivals.
You will be sent information about how to access the keys to your holiday home before you arrive.
How can you Stay Safe?
There are just a few things that we will ask you to do when staying at our Escape holiday homes, such as making use of the bottles of hand sanitiser we will be providing at your holiday home and stripping the beds at the end of your stay.
Before you Travel
Here are a few useful tips on what you can do to prepare for your holiday in St Ives.
Bring your shop with you: To prevent shortages in local supermarkets, we recommend that you do a shop before you arrive and bring it down with you – just enough to get you through your first few days.
Research your favourite places to eat: Many of the restaurants, cafes and pubs have already reopened and are now working at limited capacity to ensure social distancing measures can be met. If there is a particular restaurant you want to eat at, ring them up and reserve a table to avoid disappointment.
Research your favourite places to visit: Like food and drink, many local attractions and places to visit will also be operating at limited capacity, and some may have shorter opening times or not be open at all. Research these places too and if possible, book your tickets in advance, online.
Plan ahead: St Ives Town has implemented a range of measures within the town centre to ensure social distancing can be met at all times, which can be found here. Road closures have also been put into place, so please familiarise yourself with these new guidelines before you arrive.
Public transport: If you are arriving by train, bus or coach and require a taxi, we recommend Ace Taxis. You can call them on 01736 797799. If you need to use the taxi service to take you anywhere, please book in advance and remember you’ll need to wear a face mask or face covering.
During your stay: We ask that all our guests follow the Government Guidelines.
Symptoms: Please can we remind you that if you, someone you live with or someone you have had close contact with is displaying symptoms of COVID-19, you should not travel. If you develop symptoms whilst you are staying with us, please alert us immediately on 07741 499315. We are sorry but in order to protect our staff and other guests, you will not be able to self-isolate at your holiday home if you develop symptoms.
We are sure you are aware that the research regarding COVID-19 and the guidelines and precautions that are put into place are being constantly reviewed by the Government and adapted when appropriate. We will keep you up-to-date with all relevant information and will alter our guidelines and procedures if and when this is required.
We welcome and take on-board feedback from staff and guests and we are doing all we can to ensure the safety of all.
